Some quotes that need to be recorded

Sometimes we don’t do what we want to do because we’re afraid that other people will know that we want to do them.

- The Village

all he ever does is walk alone
man he can only can walk so far before…
all he ever does is look inside
he dont need nowhere to hide.

So, what’s been happening in the past week…?

It’s been a concert going week:

I saw the The Weakerthans today with The Western States at the West End, as part of their “A Night and A Day In The City of Winnipeg” stopover. It was a good solid show, although I was a bit disappointed in the lack of their slower stuff, and new songs (J.K.S. raked out Utilities, but I’d heard (and ripped) the song from CBC Radio 3 about a year ago). It was also a bit odd being at the all ages show, as I felt slightly old in my 20 years.

Tuesday was The Tragically Hip at the MTS Centre. It was a really good show, with 3 encores. They played a lot of the classic older stuff whilst splicing songs from their new album in, which weren’t as good as the classics, but must be done and were decent in their own right. While I’m not a huge fan of the stay-put-in-your-arena-seats style concert, the arena sounds good and is well done overall (just don’t expect value for money from anywhere other than Tim’s).

There is more to be said about the past week’s hap’s, but I will leave it at that for now. I’m freakin’ tired.

Inner thought of the week: I think I don’t know what I want, or make myself think I want what I really shouldn’t, leaving myself oblivious to potentially good situations and expecting unrealistic things from other situations. Sigh.

So, it seems there shall be no Congress for me, and while some 30 hours ago I was on the fence as to whether I wanted to go or not, I was ready to go and looking forward to Congress by the time I finished my application. This news was disappointing, but they are sending good delegates. I think how I feel will be adequately conveyed to the MSN generation via the following: :P.

I guess I will be enjoying New Year’s, the remainder of my Christmas break, and the first days of classes like everyone else. Perhaps I need to schedule my own trip to Toronto? SmartAsk reunion, anyone?

And now for something completely different: Jane, Katie & Christina, when do I get the VIP cards?
