Democracy in Action

Wow, two blog posts in as many days. This isn’t to say that I’m resurrecting the blog just yet, but I wanted to share this video with those of you who still read this. It’s of a special general meeting to deal with an administrative scandal within the Simon Fraser University Students’ Society (SFSS). It’s exciting to watch (at least for me). It’s democracy in action.

    That was quite the uprising. Besides laying some people off work, what did this group actually do? The whole video shows the classic, I’m angry mob, but didn’t say what the big violation was? The other things they did after involving meetings and ignoring stuff was clearly wrong but that all arose due to the initial mistake. What was it?

    I’m glad I’m done with this stuff. I had to skip over most of the speaching, I was getting ill.
