This is good news for billions of geeks everywhere. There may be hope for you yet steve. Just kidding of course, we all know you are the man with the wizziminins!
As much as I appreciate the message, that geeks have a chance too, did any of you read past the headline? I found this thing bloody offensive…like:
“a woman who is willing to stick it out with a nerd and get past his quirks will be handsomely rewarded. “Don’t give up on him too fast,” she said. “If you stick with him, he’s going to turn out to be really great.”"
Why should you be ‘putting up with him’ or her, in the case of female geeks like myself? It shouldn’t be about ‘sticking it out’ or tolerating someone…you should like them for who they are…
Very VERY angry at this writer.
But the headline at least does give hope for the future…
I’ll agree that the tone was not great — “lower yourself to geekdom, and you’ll find a better lover”, but it offers some hope at least that aspiring geeks may find happiness with hipsters willing to give them a chance. :P

w00t!
Hopefully the portuguese women like the geeks too Steve. You’re going to be a popular man.
I thought I would add a friendly link for those geeks out there who need some quantifies for their experiences.

Sweet. Now maybe my dating strategies of mix CD’s, poetry and foreign films may get me somewhere.

Also, your 3rd paragraph: well put.

forget “hipsters” – I say we geeks start a boycot and seek to find happiness with other geeks – that’ll show the bastards…
